What is some possible causes why a belt would flip in a cvt drive system ?

I have never heard of that. I guess it could happen if the ramp angles on the front variator were really different and one side was much steeper than the other and it closed up too fast. But even then I think it would be difficult to make it flip.

It happened to us at Loretta's last year. We figured it came from either Noah being on the gas in the air (No resistance to variator and pulley, so that would make the belt quickly go out) or the pulleys not perfectly aligned. Or both reasons to cause it.

Over rev was my thought just like jungle boy stated I just wanted to see if there is any other possible reasoning I should be concerned about.
