hey will an eton or polaris 90 cylinder bolt right on to a 50 lower end? I've been told that it should but was wanting some more opinions before i try it. i'm wanting to upgrade my daughters quad to a 90 and use the 90 carb and exhaust and all to give it some more power.

it should bolt up but you will not have the right stroke to run it go with a good 70 air cooled kit and let it ride!

Stroke will be off

I believe the 50cc is a 40mm bore and 39.2mm stroke

The 90 is a 52mm bore and 42mm stroke

The 50 cases make excellent power when you mount a 90 cylinder but you will need to bore the cases to accept the crank webs, and you will need to open them up to accept the cylinder skirts.

That's a lot of work........and it is easier to get a used 90 or some used cases or even a new set of cases and a new crank.

Good luck, we have been playing this game for 5 years and this will be our last. My suggestion would be to invest in a Cobra if you want to race and have teach shifting skills. Maintenance and a good understanding of 2 stroke tuning are a must though. Teach them early how to ride a shifter and they will be ahead of the curve.

If you want fewer headaches go to a Yamaha 125 as long as you aren't in NC.

We run fully modded 90 CVT's and our oldest daughter took a step back when moving up due to needing more seat time on a shifter

thanks guys. i forgot that the stroke is longer on the 90s. i may just buy her an older honda 125 or 200 quad, or maybe a breeze if i can find somethin cheap enuf. we arent racing this quad, just normal trail riding.
