hey guys i blew my 450r up about 2 weeks ago, called the shop today and they told me that the motor jumped time cause the timing chain was wore out, this piston smacked the valves, crank bearings went out and bent the crank. the motor has been bored not sure what to, but there gonna have to bore it out again. i just wanted to see how much you guys think it should cost for all of this. i will get a real price from the shop monday. i just wanted to see how much you guys think it will cost. like the parts all together since they have to get aftermarket stuff. i know all the prices will be different at each shop, i just wanted to see what you guys thought it would cost me. without the price of labor.

That is cheap. Parts alone aremore than 500. 260 crank , cw big bore kit 400 or standard bore is 350 or about 400 for honda stock stuff, timing chain 30, valves 25-35 a piece, valves seals 5 ea, and hope valve guides are good, bottom end gasket 50+, you do the math the guy is cutting you a break or half assing it

You should go take a look at the damage to make sure they aren't telling you that more is damaged than what really is. They might be claiming all of that needs replaced when really it doesn't.

1000 is very low if all of that stuff went out. You're talking 1000 just in parts. new head, new cylinder, new crank, bearings, piston, valves, timing chain, cam,

As i said, they are either telling you more is broke than what is, or they've just got parts laying around that they can discount you on, but for new replacement parts that damage count is easily 1000 bucks in parts alone.

it cost me something like $1200, for some porting, new valves and springs/guides, new rings, timing chain and gaskets. You have all of this damage, plus crank and piston. It should be somewhere near $2000 if the damage they said is right. Are you removing the motor/putting it back or are they? If they are, add another $200.
