So I have a 1999 400ex. When in neutral if I it the gas a little it will smoke. Any advise would help also where can I buy a over sized oil cooler for cheap....

You could do the secondary oil cooler mod for around $50.

All you need is the smallest trans oil cooler they have at pepboys I believe the one I bought was $30, some extra hose with some clamps "around $10" and your good to go.

you're not blowing smoke from heat.if it happens right after start up its most likely valve seals,after its warm then look to your rings.on a 99 it could be both,depending on maintenance and rebuild situation etc.could have my warm up or not times wrong but its not from heat.the oil has to be entering the combustion chamber from somewhere to ignite.

I'm surprised John didn't say anything about his rings or valve seals. But yea, like the guy above me said, it's not running hot, it probably needs rebuilt. Especially if it's a '99.

You likely don't have a heat problem as has been mentioned. These engines are oil/air cooled so they typically run a bit warmer than a liquid cooled engine.

You could also do a spal puller fan. They sell them on ebay
