if you're going to use it in the shop, i'd recommend one with caster wheels. its super nice to be able to move and spin it around for working on it, as well as making it easy to move outta the way in my relatively small garage.

I got a Craftsman ATV lift. It's pretty nice for just being $80 when I got it on sale.

Harbor Frieght carries a decent one.

They also make a couple nice jack stands, that would work awesome as quad stands.

Right now im using a Speaker box.
12" sub box lol

It works.

I got two milk crates screwed together with a couple 2x4s inside them supporting them and a little bit of particle board base and top for a bit better stability. Works great and didn't cost anything. I'll post a pic up later if you want.

that what im thinking ill do is just build one. its mainly to just get quad off the ground to get weight off the suspension and stuff.

The Harbor Freight atv jack/lift isn't all that bad. It wobbles a little if/when you are trying to work on it whereas a true ATV stand tends to "lock" or hold the atv better.

It's not all that bad though.

There we go, took me about half an hour to make, it's exactly 2 feet tall by the way and I find it's the perfect height for loading the quad on to it and for working on it.

Anyways if I did it again that's all I'd change.

I use a plastic milk crate with 2-2x4's bolted with carriage bolts to the bottom of it. Placing the milk crate on the ground with the 2x4's touchingthe frame, this allows me to get all 4 wheels barely off the ground and still use the milk crate for carrying and holding things while it is not being used as a stand. If I were to have larger tires on my bike like what is used for XC I don't think my set up would be enough to suspend the wheels off the ground. When I need that I will figure something else out. I am also toying with the idea of making something that allows me to place a set of wheels under the milk crate which will allow me to roll my bike around in the garage.

I did use just one milk crate before, but my rear tires were just barley touching the ground still and it's really nice to work on when it's that high up I find.
