What does everyone on here have for an exhaust in combination with the GT Thunder linkage? My Big Gun is contacting the caliper due to the way it is designed and it's getting ready to rub through the weld on the mount, even though I have it spaced out 1" it still rubs. I'm looking at buying a different exhaust when this one breaks the mount, just wondering what everyone else has that is clearing. I was looking at a Sparks. This isn't the first time I've broken the weld on the mount from it contacting the caliper so I'm getting tired of Big Gun's ****ty R&D department.

Ever considered turning her into a shorty?

Not when I paid over $600 for it. If it breaks and Big Gun doesn't do anything about it then I might.

probably because you bought a full and they are directed differently than a slip on. a slip on looks a lot better to

Honda I don't see how a slip-on would look better than a complete system. It would be the exact same pipe except that the slip-on would have smaller pipe out the back. Here's a couple pics of what's happening. You can see the caliper is scrapping right up against the bead of the weld on the mount. It will eventually rub the entire bead off and cause it to break since there is so much stress on it. I don't know what the heck their R&D department is doing when they test fit these pipes.

My motoworks spaced 3/4 of a inch out works fine and the motoworks is not to expensive 209 for the slip on. Also great power from the pipe compared to others.

a slip on is more tilted up and looks much better than a full system which is like straight

O, you could be right. I just figured they would make it go out straight out by changing the bend in the piping before it gets to the actual silencer. Anybody have a new Big Gun that's just a slip-on? Pics please? Lol

Can you add more of a spacer? The way my lexx works with the midpipe since they are 2 separate pieces I can twist it slightly. Mine is spaced a good inch at least.

My issue is I worry about bottoming out and smacking my mid pipe on the axle again on a jump. Granted I was testing the stocker with it, but it still worries me. I have it set for 5 inches of sag right now.

ive been running a white bros R4 full exhaust with "shorty" silencer for a while now. It sounds so much better than the stock header and hmf that I had forever on it.

Well Marc, the problem I see happening is the more I space it out the more twist it will put on it and it will just twist down even more. Plus if I go anymore out it will be rubbing my frame and the pipe that goes into the silencer will be rubbing the fender support. I'll take some more pics of everything and post them up.

just sell your full exhaust and buy a evo r slip on with powerbomb header or stock with ground welds

Here's some pics. You can see how twisted it is, and that's how it always is. Brandon I'll just buy a Sparks or HMF full system if I sell this exhaust.

Here's a pic of where it's nearly rubbing the fender support

And here it is rubbing the frame

I've got the mx linkage and the HMF comp series slip on. Never had an issue and I didnt have to space it out at all...

Put a washer against the rubber grommet and spacer then it wont tilt as bad

Yea thats indeed a problem. The lexx i can rotate the clamp at the subframe b/c its just a large band clamp over the muffler and since I have a midpipe I can also rotate it doesnt contact the frame.

Well I emailed their customer service and they couldn't think of anything to do other than mess with the mid-pipe to try and get it un-twisted.

On another note does anyone have a Curtis Sparks exhaust on their 400 with the GT link? I pretty much have my mind set on getting that when this one breaks. Just want to make sure it will clear the caliper if you space it out.

Wow that looks crappy like something is all wrong with the mount or the mouning point on the frame.

My Yoshi looks nothing like that.

Well I went out and messed with the pipe today. I took the springs off the mid-pipe and loosened up the band clamp on the silencer and started twisting and prying on it with my hands to try and get it straight as possible. Then I found a big flat washer and stuck it between the spacer and the rubber mount like jkosakowski said and it worked better than I thought it would. Managed to get it back to nearly perfect. It still has a little tilt, but I don't think you can get it all out since the way it's designed. Anyway here's some pics, I'll post the old ones for comparison.

I had the same trouble with my LEXX when i went to mount it. i had to get a longer bolt to get to the back of the threaded mount in the 400 with the washer in the front when you tighten it down it will level it out. i had to get a 8mm X 1.25 and use a die to thread it down ferther to get it to work.
