Can someone on here please post pics or maybe a video of them installing their hood on the old style plastics? I need to know how much to cut out of the headlight. Maybe a pic of the hole without the hood on there.

Wing it..

I got a sharpie and started cutting until it fit right. I left some plastic from right under the lights to hold the two sides together.. There is no perfect way, just take a little material off at a time until you it fits nice..

Here's my 426 with a QT 450r hood before I got black full bore plastics on the front.. You can kind of see beside the 'A' in Honda where the piece I left to hold the sides together start..

Ok thanks. How did u hold the hood on? Is the hood on top of the plastics or under neath it?

On top and underneath, lol

How I cut it it goes over top at the mounts at the bottom..

It wasn't hard, just time consuming because I took off a bit at a time until I had a decen finish.

It's held on by the factory fender clips

Obviously the new hood style, I was gonna mention mine but it's from the days when QuadTech actually made a 400ex hood lol.

Personally, I would go with QuadTech, other than that I guess my next choice would be FourWerx.

People have fit the 250r hood on, it's like the 450 r hood, the body lines are't perfect you have to wing it. The 400ex mhood would work the best soley because the body lines would match the 400ex fenders because it was designed for it.

That being said, you can get a good finish with a 250r or 450r hoos, just take your time.

How about the maier hoods? They still make one for 99-04 but says they are only to be used with there race cut fronts. Is that true or will they fit stock style with cutting? Their not quite as attractive but a whole lot cheaper than others.

You can make anything work... Just have to cut and fab but, that's with anything anymore. I personally dislike race cut fenders and only mess with quadtech and fourworx carbon. I'd post a pic of mine but exriders is not up to date with the iPhone and don't have time I hit the computer you can search me and find what it looks like with out race cut fenders. You can also find quadtech hoods cheap every once and awhile.

Here's mine last year, stock plastics with the Maier hood. It wasn't a perfect fit, but it worked.
