Wait didn't you have houser +2 standard a arms and were unhappy with them? How the heck did you get PEP 19" shocks and gibson a arms so fast?

Very nice BTW.

03-06-2003, 08:23 AM
Looks real good, theres something about gibson that makes me want toget them, but when quad041 got his bent gibson subframe, that made me think twice.

Looks real nice:eek2:

Well, I have connections, Mark Baldwin and I are good friends...lol

j/k very nice guy though....lol I had the PEPS on order, I juts updated them to L/T before he started building them. As for the Housers, I sold them to "Sharpshooter". K&K actually had like 4 sets of Gibsons in stock. I am as bad with front ends as Pappy is with new quads :D Thanks for the compliment! It is too pretty to ride on lol

WHY DID U GO WITH GIBSON???? THERE A LITTLE FUNKY LOOKING. DID U RESEARCH HOW MUCH TESTING THEY HAVE DONE?? HAS ANYONE BROKEN THERE SET UP YET??? JUST CURIOUS, I'VE HEARD THERE A LITTLE WEIRD????

YLW400
03-07-2003, 08:15 AM
Well, you probably dont want to know the real reason I went with them...lol They were the only +3's I could find in stock...lol And really, I like the look of them alot. They dont look like anything else. The gullwing like sweep is cool, at least I think anyway. Have you ever seen a pair up close? I think these will be durable. As far as the testing, no I didn't research it. Do you know something I dont? :( What do you mean, "you heard there are a little wierd"?

Jason Hughes, why do you act like you dont have a clue about gibson? You know what they are, and who sells them. There is a test on them in the April ATV Action magazine with very good reviews!!
To the customer that bought the Gibson Mx Aarms they have been tested by the top shock builder in the country with the one of the fastest Mxers. That would be Mike Halic from Custom Axis and Joe Byrd. Jason lives 2 miles from our shop ,and buys some of his parts for his bike, and now he acts clueless. He has been in the shop and seen the +1 XC and the +3 MX aarms on bikes in the shop and said and I quote "They do look different but it seems like a lot of people like them." If he wants to bad mouth our product do it to our face not behind a computer screen. We take constructive criticism from any body and like a lot of the ideas they give or concerns they have, we have made many minor changes throughout the last couple of years and all for the better.
Lets ask Jason Hughes "Why John Natalie never used the Herrman Racing Chassis for anything more than a practice bike? Why does John not want anything to do with the Herrman chassis this year, even to use as a practice bike?"
To sum all this up, THUMBS DOWN to Jason Hughes!!www.eastcoastatv.com[/URL]

I am the guy who bought the Gibsons. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship put into those things. Doesn't Attix run these too ECA? If they last for him, I am very sure they will last for me.

i dont think JL was badmouthing anyone? But i say we dont start a flame fest now. We just went through that with lonestar. I believe Gibson is a good product, but its def. not a good way to attract customers by attacking others and trying to make other chassis sound inferior. I dont mean to flame you eca400. And if this is DG then i really like your story about how u began your business. It truly inspired me when i read it. so lets just all havea vote, and everyone say that Herrmann and Gibson are great products, b4 the thread turns ugly:D

Dave400ex
03-07-2003, 02:18 PM
I agree that both Gibson and Herrmann make great products. Just because Natalie doesn't like them doesn't mean some average weekend rider/racer wouldn't. I think the prices on Gibson stuff is a little high, but rather then that it looks good.

Gibson vs. Herrmanns

Gibsons===king pin set up, no ball joints, readily available.
PRICE=1000K

Herrmanns===king pin set up, no ball joints, readily available.
PRICE=775$

I know which ones I would get, wait a minute, I already got them.

Well what can i say, i dont like companies that come on forums only to stick up for their products and bash others. Some people however answer alot of questions and give info even if they know they arent going to make a sale. John Arens is one of these people. Oh and its spelled ARENS not AHRENS East Coast Atv.

Well, back to the topic of this thread...lol I got to ride with my new setup this weekend, and I like it alot. The shocks arent as soft as I thought they would be, but I certaintly dont feel like I am going to break my ankles if I case something. The +3's help soooo much with cornering, feels very stable. Everyone that says "Those 3+1 are going to make you nose dive" and all of that crap, I wasnt feeling it if it was. I was probably jumping better then I ever have, and I havent ridden before this weekend in 3 months. On a bad note, a buddy that came from Jersey to ride with me, rolled his R on his leg and broke it in five places.....4 places in the bone that runs from your knee to your ankle, and one break in his ankle. I thought there was no way he broke anything by the way he was acting. He was very calm, we were laughing and joking right before he left to go to the hospital. He is getting pins and whatever else put in it today. First time at Easton, and on the second lap. It as sooooo muddy there though, I think thats why it happened, He barely overshot this tabletop, and his bike kinda stuck in the mud causing him to roll over, I looked back and saw him stuck under the bike. I jumped off mine, while it was still running and tried to flip the bike off of him, but wasnt having too good of luck because of the mud. But another guy on a Raptor stopped and helped us real quick to get him out of there. It was a mess. I almost crashed countless times cause of the mud. I am not one to gripe about mud, but it was muddy....lol I almost endoed on my face RIGHT in front of my wife and Sharpshooter :eek2: Needless to say being the smart***** that "sharpshooter" is, I got a standing ovation..lol

$1000 for a-arms. These manufactures and/or dealers are ripping people off bad. How much time and material are in a A-Arm. It's just a bent peice of chromoly for god sake. I think I will pull out the ol'e pipe bender and welder and start popping these puppies out for a grand.

i havent heard of any of these riders running the gibson frame???????why?

well the only thing i can say is they look cool, the only experince i had with gibson was a frame and i had major problems.
if you want to know more about it do a search, i really dont want to start a big flame here.
i know TRX has had them for a while and he really likes em, so i guess they aren't that bad.

Looks like a stirred up a bees hive, read this before anyone thinks i was starting anything!!!!!!!

I asked a question, to ylw400 why he choose a product????? was it convienience, price, research, advertising???????? simple research followed by my own opinion!!!!!!

What ever else is going on here is not my doing. I do not advertise for either co. I use products from a variety of different companys depending on my needs, sponsors help a great deal, and i like to help them out by mentioning there products whenever i can.

I have never said anything derog. about anyone nor do i plan to . so the thumbs down that was thrown my way was uncalled for. As far as the Herrmann Gibson product thing, i have nothing to say, i was simply asking a research question as to why someone choose a specific product!!!!!!!

BTW eca400, they're still weird looking.

REMEMBER, I ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION? THAT WAS ALL.

later,J

OK wel if u start that then what about the past how many years in MX racing.

Tim Far...........Leager
Dana Creech.........Leager
I believe shane Hitt used Leager
Doug Gust used Leager
Travis Spader.........Roll
Then we can switch over.

Bill Ballance.......Roll
William Yokley........Roll
Matt Smiley.........Roll
Barry Hawk.........Leager
Chris Borich.........Leager

Then this season from what i gather......
Farr.......Walsh
Creech.....Walsh
Gust......Walsh
Ballance......Axis
Yokley......Roll
Duvall.....Houser

I dont see where Gibson has a TOP name on the List. Sure those guys are fast that u mentioned. But the fastER guys are on differant products.

Any Questions

+3+1 Will make the nose lighter not heavier. Also i dunno what the shape of those a arms are called i think there called like gull wing lol but anyway they look like they dont sag as much as regular shape a arms. Do they still sag a lot? Nice set up by the way:D

I have the Herrmann's, and I really like them. However, this post smells like fish.

This is this guys 1st post, and he makes his first post to knock a product?? HHMMMNN>....I could be wrong, but the sure smells fishy to me.

P.S. BEN, my bud Beerock was banned for commercial advertising. ECA has posted this in his last reply. www.eastcoastatv.com
