this is how i make extenders

u cut the shaft with a grinder and shave down the nuckle as well then grind about 1/8 off the cut end of shaft to press them together then weld. i didnt get the chance to get the collars today so ill finish the thread tommorow but heres the start of it

basically after the first pic u get a collar that evens out the shaft to the nuckle . weld it then get another collar and slide over both of them and weld. i went to tractor supple for collars. they are like $2 each. i have a couple shafts cheap. the nuckle u can get off ebay they didnt change all the way back to 90s with the cr 250 kickers and u can use the shafts as well there cheap on ebay

with final sleeve before welding. if u want perfect welds on outside have a good tig guy do it like 2 minutes of welding

weld the outsides and your done. this is the same way they make em at walsh and houser. i just didnt use a lathe or a tig.

u can do it same way but with a yz shaft to go from crf to yz and vice versa. i have shafts for both crf and yz. for cheap if interested

That way there is no guessing.

I have an 03 crf, you say i can use a cr 250 knuckle to fit the 03 crf shaft of the engine? If so what year cr 250 knuckle?

yes i have found them being the same back to 85 so far u can get an 06-09 one new for like 39 bucks too. im getting requests for these again now im toying with making them again but if walsh and everybody is getting 200 im doing 100-125. need to make something for my time u know. my buddy just sent me six shafts

We need an extentor so my son can try to start this quad. I can do it but he has a hard time and I have seen a few guys that welded something on the kick starter to make it come out farther from motor. kind of like you made here.

im just curious what you do to drill the hole thew the middle. i have mine half assedly started havent got a chance to work on it much.
