Ok, I just sent the money for a used Hinson side case and clutch cover for my 426... I will powder the side caseing flat blk and hinson cover gold! I'll post pics once it's done I'm super happy Sense they are hard to find and only payed 60 shipped. Jealous? ;)

Yeah I'll put pics up in a min of it not powdered it's not a xr crappy rig it's a Hinson kit. I'll have it lookin new in no time.

about 30min from akron, streetsboro aurora area... this is how it is now, rough but the Hinson cover will be gold and the side case will be flat black. will look great when its all new again. ill update than as well so dont "move along" hahaha

I like the whole quick change clutch cover. My only dislike is the fact your stock bracket for the clutch cable doesnt work right (gotta redrill a hole to fit as they are off).

You can make your own using an XR's case cover and welding or plugging the kicker hole.

^ I know you can but from what I have seen it's a bolt on I'll have to see there is alot of little mods you have to do with the xr. This should be good to go no drilling.

I still think b/c its essentially an XR case cover your gonna need to redrill the mounting hole for the clutch. I might be wrong tho.

I think that's why hinson made tht cover to fit the side case perfect with no mods... You an see the hole on the cover idk I'll keep everyone up to date.

What is the big deal about this cover? I am not trying to bust balls I am honestly asking since I have not seen one before. Must be something insane if it cost around $500 usually.

ahhhh nevermind i see what it does.... that must make changing the clutch a breeze buttt $500...... really? that's pretty steep. I must admit though it is going to look pretty sweet man... good score!

I'd never spend 500.00 but 60.00 plus around 50 in powder 110.00 for a sick hinson cover that I never see on other 400's def worth it for me. Thanks man can't wait to have it all nice again

Ok, just spoke with kyle from Hinson he said I everythin will work with stock parts no drilling nothing, he also said that it is not just a xr cover he said when they made them it was a pretty big deal and took some machining to make it work with ease. Just an FYI.

Thats interesting to know. I mean it does look like an XR cover, I wonder if they modified it or something. I mean you can clearly see where the kicker would go.

Yeah, he was saying it was way more conplex than buyin a bunch of xr covers and filling the hole. Not sure what they did but he assured me it's a bolt on kit. Also getting a lsr subframe for the bike I'll keep an update

Lol, I actually just ordered one of these off of their website since it still had it on there. And I decided to call them and ask how they went about the problem of the reverse lever in the cover if they didn't ask for your year when you ordered it and come to find out they don't make them anymore. (I didn't know they stopped making them) So the guy was kinda surprised when I told him to cancel the order for one when they didn't even make them anymore. I guess they don't update their site very often since it was still on there to buy.

I thought it was just weird they had it listed for years 99-07 and they didn't even make them that long. So did they guess a year to put it up to and just slap it on the site? Just ordered new bolts for the cover. Bearings and seals than the oring gasket getting closer and closer guys hinson had it all back

Yeah I'm gonna get some. I dislike just about all of them so I gotta find a set I like. I don't like the cheap sets like alot of ppl run and I won't run them without wider pegs like ims or bling star. We will see
