Just like the title says, while my bike is down waiting on a new swingarm bolt, thought i'd give a shot at changing the front sprocket for more torque. how would i go about doing this?

If you want more torque go down on the front. Just remember if you're replacing one sprocket you gotta change the other one and the chain too. If you're just experementing then be careful not to ride too much on the old rear and chain.

There is 2 bolts on the sprocket. Take those off and the sprocket will come right off along with a metal plate, very simple.

ok thanks! I saw the two bolts and I said to myself "is that really all I have to do to change that front sprocket?" lol also do any of you guys really run a front sprocket cover of some sort? my bike didn't come with one and was wondering if its something I should really get or will I be fine without if for a while?

I don't run 1 now but I plan on getting 1. It can save you from busting your case or case cover if you happen to throw a chain or break your chain.

Moose poly case saver.

Best hands down.

Well I guess you don't have to... but my buddy thought he'd be a little trickster and just change the front and his chain fell off 8 times in one day, and we tightened it every time it did too.

Its always a good idea to replace the entire setup. Only if its fairly new or not to worn down will it work to change one or the other.

I never had an issue but I have a newer chain and sprockets that are about a year old now.
