How the hell do I get it out. Had to take an impact to the nut itself. I've been spraying it for days with liquid wrench.

You're going to have fun with this one..

I used an air chisel and 10lb sledge.. Mine wasn't as bad as guys' of guys though.. Do a search, one of the most common problems. You may have to cut it out

I got lucky with mine. Tapped it out with a 3 lbs hammer and a long *** screw driver.

mine wasnt hard at all to get out.
Sledge hammer and pick. couple hits and i was able to pull it right out. i've got a brief question though, how would i know if my bearings and whatnot are seized up? i dont see anything that looks abnormal but then again i bought this bike missing so much stuff so i may not know what to look for.

it took me a good 3 days of beating and letting the pb blaster soak. i tipped my wheeler on its side since its easier to hit down, also it took the weight off the bolt now that it wasn't really the pivot point, i supported the under side of the frame with a jack. that keeps the frame from separating when hitting the bolt.

I dont understand you guys problem removing these things.

I had my 00 EX since 05 and who knows what it saw before me (it was clean tho). I finally yanked the bolt out in late 09 if I recall. Just took an impact gun and undid the nut then grabbed the bolt and it spun. I then get it out slightly and sprayed in there with PBlaster and voila came right out.

After that I take it out and lube it with permatex antisieze every 6 months or year or so. Aint seized yet.

I guess I was just lucky.

Try a spray called kroil, it puts all others to shame by far. It comes in an orange spray can. Bad stuff! We had some chillers at work that had a recall on he fan blades and could not get them off no matter how hard we tried. Broke several pullers, heated them up, etc. Never had an issue like it before. We called Trane and they told us to use Kroil. Spray it on and let it soak and they came right off.

I have been using liquid wrench. We put an impact on the opposite side of the nut and i hit the nut side with a 10lb sledge and it didn't even move a mm. Not sure what to do..

U gotta get it to spin.

Take a torch and heat the hell out of it and then take a candle and put it on the bolt letting it drip down.

I had an issue with the rear axle nuts and heat and the candle trick worked.

What happens is the heat expands the metal, thus allowing a small gap to form. When you put the candle on there it melts, the wax sits in that little gap and bingo whatever your working on is free.

I used that candle trick ALOT. But you gotta get the metal hot!

As for people having a hard time removing it-its bent usually like Thumpin found out.

No way to tell until you reach that point where it wont move period no matter what you do.

10lb sledge + days of liquid wrench + impact = new bolt most likely... I mean that thing didn't move even the tiniest sliver...

ahhhh does this bring back memories.

i had a 99, cracked my swingarm and decided to do a build. ended up cutting the bolt out and drilling it out of the cases.

tried heat, pb blaster soaking every night for a week, impacts, sledge hammers, you name it. wasn't happening. needless to say i took care of the new one:p

I now have a new problem. What do I cut the bolt and bearing collars with? I planned on using a plunge cutter (sp?), But that thing barely scrapes the rust off the collars. :p What can I use to get in there and cut it? I don't have access to a plasma cutter...

I still haven't got the bolt cut at all besides between the swinger and frame on the left side.

I don't know how I am going to cut between the motor and swing arm? A sawzall and grider won't fit in there. After I do that anyways how am I going to get the bolt out of the motor bushing??

Also, I CAN NOT rotate the bolt at all. It's not happening

Try to slide your engine to the left to make room to cut the other side. Oh yea, and read one of the million threads on this very subject lol! Good luck man

Nothing is cutting the bolt collars and I cant get a sawzall blade in there because the blades are too tall. Smashed the **** out of my finger trying to pound it again. IDK wtf to do. About to take a torch to the whole damn swingarm.
