Tryin something new its epoxy appliance paint for fridges (Black) it says it hardens supper hard. I figured if it comes out as hard as a fridge ill be happy. Just thought id try something diffrent.

I tried it on my shifter lever and brake lever. It didnt hold up at all, infact I think the cheap rustoleum black and clearcoat I used on my painted throttle cover held up better.

Not sure how well its gonna hold up in the long run since it only sees road wear, but I put a new axle on my pick up that was covered in rust.

So I cleaned off as much as I could, used rustoleum rust reformer paint over the entire thing, then rustoleum industrial (silver can) black. So far it looks dang good and its been like 3 months. I suppose if I cleared it, might be even better,

Haha, no spray paint will hold up to a brake or shift lever.

My boots rub the powdercoat from the factory right off mine.

My left boot has a big black spot on it from the paint wearing off the shifter onto it.

Believe it or not restoleum spray paint has held up pretty well on my brake and shift levers! They have like 6 coats and a clear coat but they're holding up pretty good!

Go to tractor supply and get a quart of implement paint for tractors and such, which ever color you want 12.99, and some hardner 15.99, and brush it on. You wont be sorry, great finish and it holds up great :D

Lots of input haha, oh well I'll throw my 2 cents into the pot. I used Rustoleum's metallic automotive stuff on my brake lever, clutch lever and throttle cover. Now if you've seen my accident on YouTube you'd notice that my quad landed handlebar first, and not a chip in the paint! I also did the entire interior of my truck in it (using Rustoleum Automotive primer) and that worked great, doesn't chip any easier than the professional exterior paint job. Plus metallic colors are awesome! :D

On a side note my friend used the florescent colors from Ace Hardware for dirtbike hubs on his Kawi and those were amazing, and held up to everything. I'll attach a pic of them.

stuff looks good guys.

i never had luck painting parts on my quads. tried a few times but ended up getting it all powdercoated. same on my bikes.

i have a powdercoat set up going, and i love it. for the price of a beginner gun and a cheap or free oven off of craigslist, in my opinion your better off going with that route. the prep is the same as paint, but its a one shot deal and is tough as nails if you prep correctly.
