I am getting ready to buy my son his first atv. He is 8, but only is the size of a 4 year old. (42 lbs). I am trying to decide which ATV to get. Here are my 2 options.

1. 2006 Single A-arm DRX50 . Steel wheels and pretty much stock

2. 2006 TRX 90

We only do trail riding as of right now, but we do have 600 acres of fields we get to ride in as well. I know the DRX 50 has a lot better suspension, but the TRX90's run forever. My oldest son currently has a trx90 and he barely fits on it, so I am leaning towards the DRR.

Any thoughts would be great. Trying to get him one of these atv's in the next day or so.

If your just trail riding, buy the trx 90, he will grow into it, plus you will save a ton $$$ over the years in maintenance costs.

The trx 90's also hold their value over the years too..

Found out a friend of mine has a 2011 Polaris Outlaw 90 that only has 5 hours on it. Its just been sitting in his garage for the past year. He said I can have it for $700 if I get his other 2 ATV carbs rebuilt. I think I will just go with the outlaw 90.

The drx 50 suspension is no better than the trx because its a single a-arm bike.I would go with the 2011 Polaris also because thats a good deal on it.
