Anyone have any experience with WSM pistons? I am in the process of rebuilding a 1997 Sportsman 400L and i ordered a .020 over piston for it. I brought the piston and jug into work to bore the jug to match the new piston and i found .013 taper from the top of the piston to the bottom of the skirts. Just wonderin if anyone else had ever ran into this??

Most pistons are narrower at the top, they should be,

pistons are cam ground narrower at top and are no not round they are narrower in piston area those areas are thicker .When the piston warms up it is then round.

yeah thanks guys I done some research after I posted this and found that all 2 cycle pistons are that way. .013 seemed excessive but I found that some forged pistons can get up around .020....
