What do you think a twin 400ex engine would be like? 800cc total twin. How hard would it be to build? Would it be relaible and have around 50HP?

What about a twin 450R?

Only way i can see is building a totally custom case to accept the top ends..Then some sort of dual crank that brings it down to one transmission.

I think I remember seeing some motorcycle hillclimbers that had twin engines. Separate cases, with a chain between the two.

Here's a 70's drag bike I found on google.

its doable, but the 400ex topend isn't much to write home about so id pick a different topend.

your talking a totally custom bottom end though. could probably take a v twin bottom end from a similar engine and work from that.

anything can be done with enough skills and a machine shop:p

It would be simpler and cheaper to use a different motor. For instance a streetbike motor. But twins are cool. Scroll halfway down to the CR500.

I have pics of a Hillclimb bike with 2 XR500's motors. It didn't end well..

CR1000 WTH!

I like the Aprilia RS500 twin design.

Are any modern two-stroke enduros oil injected so you don't have to lug around oil to refill at gas stations?

100% of snowmobiles today are oil injected...if not 4 stroke. Why not build somethIng crazy with like...twin 800HO ski-doo motors or something like that? It would use a CVT type transmission... So you'd think they'd be easier to connect together being belt drive and all....

Just buy a V twin super bike engine or a V4 bike engine.

I have always wanted to put a 1200 sporty engine in it.
Like said it would need a custom bottom case, all.
