Recently acquired a Metrakit 70 motor. I know it is not the latest & greatest 70, but we are going to use it for a practice motor to beat on, so it will be just fine for that.

I was curious what the best choice for a pipe would be? I have a Metrakit pro-race pipe, but thought maybe there was a better option. It will be used for MX. Any input is appreciated.

We bought a M/K70 motor last year for my daughter. The guy we bought it off of used the Hetrick Gen III and before that he ran the POS. We had a POS so we ran it. It has been a strong dependable motor.

Just my luck, the high dollar pipe works the best LOL. Our Mach 1 pipe for our RT motor won't fit it due to the exhaust angle is different. I'm not sure I want to buy a high dollar pipe for a practice bike. I was really hoping to finding something used. I have a few pipes here to play with. I may just run the goofy center mount MK pipe until I find something else. It's just for practice anyway.

We won many nationals with the mk pipe, on 2 different 70 motors. You do not have to run it out the middle. Cut it, turn it, shorten the can, take the weld off the pipe at the roundest part, turn it till it kicks out the side, weld it back together. Shorten the siliencer 5 inches. That equals Erik Havert 70's metrakit pipe. Many people wondered how I got it to fit and look like a reg pipe. Good overall pipe for a 70.

The silencer on the MK pipe we have is shortened. The can is only 5 or 6 inches long. I'm going to play with it to see how it does.
