I've been trying to get rid of my 400ex for a while to sell or trade for a Banshee. All the Shees offered so far have been garbage but this one looks half decent.
2004 400ex w/ title
-Yosh slip on
-jetted perfect
-swinger skid
-pb block off
-newer o ring chain and sprockets
-tusk bars
bad, does need swingarm bearings.

The Banshee is a '98 w/ title.
-Mikuni carbs, he isnt sure what size
-bored 4 thousandths over
-Dynoport 2 into 1 pipe

He wants to trade my quad + 200 for the shee. Good deal or no?

That banshee looks beat compared to your quad IMO. If anything you should be getting money on top of his quad.
His is covered in rust and just looks like it wasn't taken care of.

Everyone on here for the most part are banshee haters, but anyway I definitely agree with trading for one, but not that one.
The dynoport 2-1 pipes straight up are garbage, especially for coal mine riding. Plus is looks kind of beat. Fenders are saggy, a-arms are rusty as is the frame. I would be patient and keep looking.
Good luck

i have 2 beer caps ,$3.64 and a lighter in my pocket i would trade for a banshee.......any banshee, the most built fastest one in the world.
built out of inferior materials, handle like crap with a decent amount of power that you have to constantly extract.thay're a facade at best, total junk in reality.i laugh eveytime i see one,i laugh harder when i see a built one.to think someone decided to pour a bunch of money in one of those things.its the only way to actually have one that isnt entirely laughable tho,i guess.btw that one in particular is scrap.i've seen them with about twice as much work that actually look good as well go for 2500 all day.
if you'd like i'll go take a dump, scoop it out of the porcelain and trade you that 400 for it. pm me for details.sorry JMO.

Look for a 250r sometimes older guys who have them are willing to trade for a more tame 4 poke...I have no problem ripping coal hills and my 250 is set up for mx :)

I like 250r, great quads. but I am interested in a coal hill shooter. Soon as I pick a banshee up I will be calling up HJR or F.A.S.T for a 4 mil cub.

Well a big bore 250 will outrun a banshee easily when set up properly but it will cost more money...
And when I say big bore im talking 500cc saber motors... This video is only a 370R vs a 460 shee... As you can see the banshee is the one on the left with 2 pipes getting whooped on by a single cylinder :)

Heres the nasty banshee from treverton this guy tears **** up...

Not dissin on 250r's but that banshee was not set up properly if it is getting beat by a 370 on gas when its a 460. I'm not even sure how you would get a 460 banshee?
The second vid though, his bike is for sale on craigslist.

Well if this isn't the most idiotic post I have ever read in my life.. Such ill-informed people I swear:rolleyes:
Inferior materials? I've seen more bent frames and damaged suspension components on many other quads then I have ever seen on banshee's. I've seen them tumble down hills multiple stories tall and still not damage the frame.
And most of the people that say they handle like complete ***, are usually the ones who have never put actual decent seat time on one. I had a 400EX and honestly I can throw my banshee around equally as well, whether it be in trails, hills, jumps, berms, you name it. They have a very low CG and with a few aftermarket suspension components they're nothing to shake a stick at. (I mean come on, who leaves factory garbage shocks on these things anyway?)
Power? I've never been on another ATV with just basic intake and exhaust mods like a banshee that gives me the same thrill. Too many people throw mods on them without taking the time to synchronize the carb's or tune them properly, so they run like crap and are overly rich or lean etc. Other people see that guy riding his banshee and go "wow what a piece of crap, those things are garbage, look at it sputter" then go talk trash on forums. Ride a well-tuned, properly maintained and setup banshee, with some mild suspension work, and then talk to me. Until then keep your ignorant mouth shut, before you make yourself look like a bigger idiot.
As for the 250R argument, don't take this the wrong way, (I LOVE 250r's, and really want one) But a well built 421 4mil cheetah cub or TRex banshee will eat a 250R for breakfast power-wise. It's NOT uncommon for a 421 to put out well over 100 horsepower..
And they make up for a 771 cheetah or something to that effect. :chinese:

Mattoon makes 4 cylinder Billet cases. Never heard of a quad banshee motor but I can't even imagine:devil:
A few years back I remember someone selling a triple banshee motor on BHQ, somewhere around 1100 cc I believe. I think they said 230hp or so.
But yes, ill-informed and ignorant are the words...
I have now switched ways and decided to just build my 400 for harescrambles, should be fun anyways,.

I looked and I believe the quad cases are made for caracal cylinders which are 573cc each!!

anybody with a half decent banshee would be dumb for trading for a 400. they are probably still laughing at you.

Yeah I'd definitely be looking at a different one. That one is beat to hell. I personally have never liked them but that's because they handle like crap and I spend all my time at a motocross track. The only way I'd have one is if it had an Outlaw frame. But they seem to be alright for what you wanna do. I've had several friends with them and they never had any complaints. One of them had one that was a 400 something and that was just freakin scary. I'd rather top a crotch rocket out than ride that thing again.
