Im building a 400ex , Its getting a new crank (maybe a stroker) bored, 416, 426, or maybe 440, hd headstuds, ported head, cam, valves and springs, clutch, wanting maybe $1400. Its getting broken in for sure and thats all of the time going in it. If your interested and will to put a down payment on it ill build it for how you want. for extra might include a carb (450r or predator carb)

So you are building a motor. But you still don't know the details on it.

But you're going to sell it for 1400, but not until you ride it.

Plus you want a deposit?

Good luck with all that.

You'd be better off selling it when the motor is built, ran, and removed, and ready to be shipped.

Its not like im some inexperienced person just learning how to do this. Ive done this more than once and just though id give something besides local a try. I know fairly well the details, would you rather have a 440 bb top end cammed for mx or a build with more low end? Im putting buyer customization into the options. 1400 for an engine thats completely built with a basic 8 hr break in, Would you rather have a carb that gives a big low end burst (450r) or a carb that just letts loose at wot at high rpms (predator) you see it?

I see your point in this man and it really is good thinking..Just might be hard..1400 is alot of $$ for people these days. Goodluck in your buisness!

i might not go as overboard on the build. 440 w hd headstuds, sparks clutch kit, crf timing chain, ported head, and maybe +1 valves
