Hey Y'all

I'm getting an 05' brake switch today and plan to mount it on my 04' 400 this weekend. Any suggestions on what gauge wire I should be using? Also I am thinking of splicing in for power up by the ignition or before headlight swich. Will either or work? Is there a preference or a better place? Just looking for some advice to make this process go faster. any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Much!!

Otis

14g or 16g is enough for what you're doing. You may be able to go smaller, but it may get a little hot if you have your headlights on for extended periods of time. And you already know what I think for wiring, we'll see what everyone else thinks.

16 ga. on the wire should do fine, it’s only one light so it doesn’t draw much power.

If you want to add something else, I’d hook it up to the battery with a fuse.

if you get one thats rated at 12 vdc you can avoid using a fuse.
