Possibly crank seals, but you wont really know until you crack it open.

had the same probleme it was the crank seal for me. the seal wasnt put properly from factorie.... 10 buck for a seal only had to take clutch side cover off

It could be two things:

1) Like others have said it's a bad crank seal.
2) The other scenario is if this was a Electric Start model that was converted to a kickstart, there is a bolt hole that connects the transmission side and motor side, which needs to have the bolt put back in or oil can transfer.

Its one of the bolt holes that hold in the 2 what i call "bendinx gears" its hard to explain but easy to see i guess. There is 2 gears right off of the starter. They are both held in place by a casted piece of metal that bolts on with 3 bolts. I just bolted the casted piece of metal back onto mine and it solved the problem.. i hope i didnt confuse ya just trying to make sense of it haha

This one.. don't put too long of a bolt in as it will touch the inner.. I put a washer or two on.. loctited mine too.http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww274/stewart6111/TRX450ER/Useful%20pics/Picture209m.jpg
