i have an 86 cylinder the long rod crank and what im assuming the 88 piston it has a boost port or hole on the intake side there is no spacer plate is this normal and why does it run out of power 6th gear it flattens out dont go any faster just gets slower

Does the motor have compression? What carb are you running what what is the main jet in it?

didint check the compresion but it seens to be fine feels fine anyways byt its the stock carb needle on the second down from top with a 150main air screw out 1 and 3\4 turn and older fmf pipe stock airbox with a uni filter stock reeds .

Is it getting plenty of fuel to the carb? No blockage in the on/off/reserve valve? I would check the compression for starters.

checked the fuel thats fine plenty have to check the compression but im working on putting something bigger on it anyways was going to sell this set up just having a hard time finding
something used i cant spend all my cash but do have some looking for a 310 330 350 if you now anyone that would be great thanks

you can run any cylinder with any year crank and or with a spacer plate with a 86 piston..

If your running out of power on top end its either one or two things.. your compression is low or your gearing is too high and tires to large for the motor to pull it

what is your gearing and what are your tire brand and size in the rear

but i have a 88 piston with long rod and 86 jug that works

And that's fine like I said you can run any cylinder with any piston

86cyl 86-89 piston
88cyl 86-89 piston
86 cyl w spacer only 86 piston
88 cyl w spacer only 86 piston

U didn't answer any of my questions....Answer then and others, otherwise there's no point In Asking u anything if u don't answer

it has a 39 n 14 on it with 20/10/9 and 19/ on front my other motor has no problem running that gearing

there like a stock tire nothing with any meat to them and sorry im thinking the compression is weak but the piston and rings look really good

Stop with the explanations as to why u think everything looks good and do it the right way, do a compression test..

thats alright the engine is out of the frame and its a bit hard to do that i have a different cylinder and stuff anyways thanks for telling me it was compression that was one of my first thoughts just asked about the setup if it was right didnt need a lesson on it i know enough about the two stroke engine just not what piston goes with what by the way the compression was at 180

Whaaaat???? U first said u took the engine out and it would be hard to test compression then at the end u say comp is 180???? if u knew enough u wouldn't ask why it's cutting out at wot In 6th gear

U obviously ar bs'n and that's it.. Good luck

If your comp was 180 you'd have no prob wot I'n 6th

no **** you are good whats your next thing you would say smart *** i asked a question you said compression your great thanks i checked that before i took the engine off just testing the knowledge out the some people are smart and others are not so lucky

Then why did u not just answer the question

Oh that's right you were just "testing knowledge"
