I been super happy with my timberland pro 6" plain jane work boots. I finally have managed to wear them out after 3 years. The soles are starting to wear thin and the leather is dry and cracking.

Does Redwing have any with those cushion/gel soles? If they do that would be a good choice because half my time is in the woods working too.The timbos dont cut it in the woods for me though.

Problem is there are 2 types of rewings:
1. USA made ones, they are very $$$ and hard to find
2. China junk, still $$$ and absolute junk and the most common thing you will find.

Could give carhartt boots a shot, I havent bought a set yet cause they run about 160-but they look really nice. Kinda a hybrid hiker/workboot.

I have had every boot for tons of uses. Dairy Farming, Welding, industrial stuff.
Georgia boots are by far the most comfy and more durable boots I have ever owned. I have tried redwing, cat , wolverine, work n sport, and carharts. Georgias are the best.

Usa redwings for lace ups, ariats or rockys for slip ons. Georgia is also a very nice boot as was mentioned.

I have a pair of georgias that have the same "giant" sole as my romeos and are similar in construction except the boots lace up and yada yada but theyre super comfy.

I like my Caterpillar boots. They deff. need different insoles if you plan on being on your feet for 8 hours but other then that they are comfortable, last awhile and built very well. I have had a pair of Pipeline's and have Alaskan FX's currently.

carolinas is what i wear. seems to be about the only comfortable thing i can find since i have wide feet. had a pair last about two years still wear them around the house but bought a new pair since im on my feet 10 to 12 hours a day right now. however cutting coolant seems to eat boots.

I love my Ariats compared to my Rocky's. This is working in Ag Retail to so around harmful chemicals daily.

Just get yourself a nice pair of gel insoles and you wont care what kind of boots you have on...

Not sure what you do but if your standing all day working you can't go wrong with these..

top of the page has mechanic's wear boots. I've had a couple pair of these years ago and they held up great. The only thing that really stood up to working in a mechanic shop with gas, oil trans fluid and almost everything else you can think of. They didn't make them in steel toe back then but it looks like they do now. They are like wearing sneakers but they are actually a boot.
