i was wondering if any1 has any tricks on doing the valve guides....i already extracted the broken one by heating the head up to 280 in an oven and getting it out wth a punch and mallet but the new guide (even frozen) would not go in.. im open to any ideas.

thanks

DO NOT beat on the new one. DOnt force it in. Trust me, your better off taking it to a shop and having them do it.

If it gets bent, or warped at all, or not installed 100% correct, it will be scrap and you wont have anything but troubles with the guide.

Just take it and have a shop do it.

Speaking from experience here..

Pretty sure it has to be reamed. Id also let a shop do it, give george a call lol.

Thought you were gonna give up on it and sell it?

but Marc to answer your question, no I'm not going to keep it....it will be for sale very soon. do you think I'm better off parting it out or selling it together

Parting it out, you will probably get more money overall, but it takes a long time to sell everything.

And the things i never could get ride of are ,

Stock exhaust, Gas tank, Airbox, and just other little odds and inns.
