axle nut ???

Hi all,

06 400ex.

I'm replacing the carrier bearings. Everything is now back together. Except the axle nut/jam nut. Some reason the axle nut will not slide over the tapered part of axle. So you can install the clip. Any ideas? Everything is factory. I even ordered a new axle nut. Just incase the old one was out of round.

try putting some grease on it.. Did you mess up the splines on the axle when you took it out somehow?

I actually looked at it tonight. I couldnt feel a burr where the axle nut slides on. But i polished it up with the die grinder and scuffing pad. I must have generated a burr there. It goes on fine now. Thanks for the reply.
