Well I'm in the market for some new A-Arms for my 426 since I broke the shock mount on the stock ones. I was thinking of going with the +3 Burgards but will I be able to use my stock shock? I also have a lead on some used custom axis shocks with some LSR +2's hopefully he still has them when I get paid on Wednesday.

My question is, since I am on a limited budget. ~$750, should I got with the Burgards or the LSR/Custom Axis? The Burgards are brand new and come in at about 600 with +3 brake lines. The LSR's are used and likely have signs on wear but I'd be getting shocks as well. But I'll also have to buy +2 brake lines won't I?

Also if any of you have a front end for sale please let me know maybe we can work something out.

I'm also a freelance web developer with a nice portfolio so I'm open to trading my services for parts as well.

Thanks,
Travis

with +2 arms you should be able to run stock brake lines.

Seriously what i would do is, get the GTT +2 arms. Only $395, comes with new tie rods and everything.

Cheap and really good quality arms.

I don't see anything about A-Arms on the GTT website to order them? Maybe the guy who owns GTT will run across this thread and say hey, I need a new website, haha.

Oh, also.. I should be able to use my stock spindles and everything else I currently have then if I go with +2, correct?

Any issues with using the stock shocks on +2 standard travels? I'm a good 275-280lbs

16.5 for ST iirc and 19 for LT? Probably wrong I'm new to this but that sounds right in my head for some reason.

tons of great info in this thread.
Yeah, it's a long read, but well worth it.

Your a wee bit to hefty to use the stock shocks on something like that setup.

Revalve and respring on 450r shocks is worth it, or buy some custom shocks. the EX shocks are junk.

I would try (if budget allows) to go with long travel if you can. You’ll be glad you did

for ~$800 I doubt Ill find anything LT. Sure I can get a-arms but they're useless without shocks. Unless someone has some used arms and shocks they want to part with? I say 800 because I'm pretty sure I'm going to be getting the houser arms tomorrow unless I find something else. As of right now I just spent the last hour in the garage getting her ready.

I got my long travel front end for 800, but revalving the shocks was another 400, lol.

If you're not racing there is no real need for LT in my opinion.. you can have 450r shocks rebuilt and it will save you some $.

Try and find some **QUALITY** used a-arms.. if you buy ones that need ball joints you'll end up being more expensive in the long run..

Gave C&D a call yesterday and ended up ordering some houser +2s. It should be fine for now until I can afford some 450r shocks and get them set up for me. I'll just keep it off the track until then.

Also ordered all the stuff to make my 03 400ex a 426. Gonna throw in a stage 2 hotcam and a new timing chain too while we're in there.
