My son is out growing his trx 90.. I have a couple of trx250rs but there WAY to much for him right now. I've read they have put cr80 , And crf150 motors in the 250r frames...what class is this ? Is this class growing? What age do the boys step up from the 90's?

Well, If you were to do a conversion using the trx250 frame he'd run Nationally in the 90 modified (12-15yo) class and if you put the 150 in it that'd be a Super-mini. Now, if you don't run the Nationals then you better check the rules in your series.
I'm not a big fan of the Schoolboy Jr class IF you run a 300ex because I think the machines are extremely too heavy for the eligible age of the rider. The Yamaha Raptor 250 converted to a 300 is a nice machine but your rider will still be out on the track with 300ex's.
Brett Musick has proved a rider can skip over the Schoolboy classes and jump on a 450 an win. He went right from a 90 Mod and Super-mini to a 450.......

Thanks, he's 9 and he rides my 250r very well...its just too much for him if he really got on it . I already have a roller I could have the shocks setup for his weight, and put a smaller motor in it and the bike could grow with him For less than it would cost to do a full out trx 90. Then I'd have to start over at 12. Just trying to think ahead.
