Well we had to move to a new much larger hard-drive as this site is getting so huge that the old one could not suport it! Sorry for the inconvience but I suppose no pain no gain :macho :chinese:

It' seems to be running much slower now...:confused:
Edit...it is friggen creepin along....WTF It makes me feel like I'm riding a stock 400ex compared to the 416..:o

Ben I noice that the postings are extremely slow ..Is this to be expected for the time being? or just until the hard drive conversion is done....

We are streamlining the huge database (it is bigger than 6 gigs) so it is going to be slow for a little while until we get that squared away :rolleyes: Sorry for the trouble!

Its all messed up for me. Pages take for ever to load and forum shuts down every couple minutes. Just letting yah know something nots right.

The Tech Guys are working on this fast and furiously - they aren't exactly sure now what the deal is. It is something simple they say but something they are just looking over. It should be back to normal soon I hope. Please just bear with me - I am getting an ulcer!

Jabber could have put it better and going on that I believe Ben has consumed a little to much alcohol and is mistaken his kids and wife for these so called "tech guys". While he is under the influence his wife is recording the kids flipping the server power on and off. Of course Ben wont admit he is an alcoholic, it would look bad for his rep and all that money he gets from C&D for ad space on the site? It goes straight to the local beer store and our site is still on the old slow servers that they were once on when Ben first acquired the site. That is another reason, aside from the kids, that we are havin so much trouble. :eek:

Thanks for getting the forum back up Ben! I was going in withdrawl again! Mom knew this time, and asked if she should just take me to the vets, but I had faith in you Ben! Saved me another trip! I don't want to get put down, because I would miss this site too much!

For everyone,
I know these withdrawls very well, see I'm stationed in a squadron that gets deployed on an aircraft carrier and at times the server goes down. When this happens everybodies moral seems to change or alter to this obsession of I need e-mail or the forums to get your fix. I have had this many times, prior to December of 2002, but I haven't had these obsessions or needs until last night... LOL. I think I'm hooked to this website.... LMAO.

Damn! dude its slow now! I think I'm gonna come back tommorow. Now that I know you didnt just pull the plug on it, I'll give ya time to work out the bugs and clock it up a few notches. Right now it is taking a full minute for the page to switch @ 50.6k :eek2:

Guys I was up late trying to work out the bugs and now I'm up early working hard on it. We'll get it fixed but it might take a little time, thanks very much for all of your understanding. If I don't get an ulcer now I never will :tired: :ermm:

It is timing out when you try and post a message. You have to do it like 3 or 4 times to get it to go through.

I'm on a DS3 with no one else on it and it is still slow - so I can guarantee everyone the problem isn't on your end. They have likely moved the site to another server that is on either a slower box, or on a network segment with higher traffic. I am sure they are just doing what they have to do to keep it online at all...
Actually we are just having a small integration issue - the server and connection are still very fast. We should hopefully be back to normal tomorrow afternoon. I'm doing all I can to get this fixed. It will be fixed and be exactly back to normal but it just takes a little sacrifice from you guys which I appreciate. :)

Cool - I meant moved the site as a temporary work around, not a down grade ;) I'm not a big Linux guy - but I do specialize in Systems Integration across multiple platforms in a hosted environment - so if there's anything I can do to help just shoot me a PM. Keep up the good work.:)

Hey Ben any word on when things will be back to normal? There seems to be a few bug's here and there on my end, like it really takes a while to post sometimes and every now and then it is freezing and going to page cannot be displayed.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! This is killing me, it takes about 4 attempts to even post and then you just hope that it goes through. As of today 3/9/03 at 7:20 p.m. it still seems to be screwing up. Any word on when it will be back to normal. It is going on 2 weeks now.

Well we are still working to resolve these issues. It looks like we might need to wipe the server clean and reinstall everything again, not losing any posts of course. We might also need to buy another server, a huge one, to handle to load. Over the weekend we didn't get anything done because my tech guys charge $120/hour on the weekends :eek2: Rest assured it will be fixed, just be patient! :)
