Need 300EX Wiring Help

I have a 300ex project bike that i picked up for next to nothing and I would like to try and get it running. the wiring harness is completely screwed so im going to be ripping it off and throwing it in the trash. theirs no key switch and no starter switch either. i really have no intent of ever using any of that stuff anyway so what i was wondering was, is there anyway that i can wire up just the starter, battery, and the relay to a toggle switch to keep the battery from dying, and a push button to start it? im really bad with wiring as far as reading schematics goes. is this possible to do though? i know theres some kind of reverse switch or something on it but i have no intent of ever using reverse on this fourwheeler.

so how would i go about wiring that up? would it be the same way as a car maybe?

This is on a 400ex but same basic concept. I just rewired my whole 300. Not that much to it.
