key switch, plastic shroud removal

guys, i bought a set of trail tech fat bar clamps that come with a plastic cover to relocate the key switch, neutral light, and the reverse light...


my question is, how do you get the key switch out of the stock plastic cover without cutting that plastic?

is there a way to take the key switch apart, or do i have to detach the key from the wiring harness?

Take the wire off the harness, the key switch snaps into the plastic.

Yea there is a connector under the front fender you unplug,

i just use my fingers and pinch the two (maybe 1 i dont remember) snaps in and push it up through the plastic.

edit: and i think there is a groove in the plastic where the ignition sits to slide it out easier.

Just unplug the green conector from the wiring harness and push on the two tabs on the underside of the key, you might need a flathead screwdriver.
