I would recomend going with a J E 416 piston, less heat, more relability, less cost (bore cost etc...)As far as a cam stick with Sparks or TC hot cams is not getting the job done in the quality dept(I have been running a TC national xc cam no hardened rockers for atleast 2 years. These items may cost more but as you can read in other forums you get what you pay for.The other good thing about Sparks and TC they build, test, and support these products with a call they can recomend any combo to fit your budget(just be patient with them)While your at it get a good pipe I recomend a Sparks x-4.

i run a wiesco 11:1 and stage 2 hot cam. no you dont need hardned rockers. i like the power alot i have out run people with 416 je pistons and web cams and im still running stock bore. maybe its the driver but i really like my setup.

Hey Sparks,it's your money but I really think reliability is worth my money. There are some very interesting threads about Hotcams, customer serv, reliabilty issues and quality.I have not heard read or experianced any thing negative about TC or Sparks.Just my thoughts.

Sparks and TC cams are just WebCams with they're name and price on them. I got my WebCam from Magic Racing for $149. $20 more than Hot Cams. What is $20 more? You do have to send your old cam for core but who needs it anyway. I thought about keeping mine for an exspensive boat anchor! JK! Are you ever planning on going back to stock cam?:huh Me neither. I love my cam but they do suggest getting hard welded rockers with these. Not bad insurance if you ask me. I'm not knocking Hot Cams, I've just been going on what you guys are saying in the threads and to me it don't sound good. If I had one, I would rip it out and go with the XR400 cam if money was an issue. You do get what you pay for and for me I'm going for years of dependability, not months of cheap parts!! Spend a little now or spend more later, it's your choice.
