I am running a little late in the ball game but here is my 2005 450r mx build for 2012. This is what it looked like when i brought her home

bought some new parts and threw it together for my first race back on a quad in 3 years

After finding stripped out hipers, bent steering stem, plugged front tire, subframe broken in half and electrical taped back together and a nail used as a hub cotter pin, i had the motor rebuilt, i decided it better tear everything else down to see what else i could find.

looking good man! I'm going through the same thing!I just got a 05 and its hammered a little harder than I thought. Some people should not own anything with a motor... I might have you beat although my subframe isn't taped together!Have fun with the rebuild man I know I will!

Thanks everyone lol and why not these colors? i like to be different with my stuff, not have something that looks just like all the others and i could not decide between the blue and the green so i said why not both haha

I need to finish prepping my nerfs, bumper and grab bar and get them sent off to get powder coated neon orange i think, just need to decide if the beadlocks should stay silver, go green or orange? as well as replacing my front brake calipers and the bushings in the GT Thunder Mx linkage

The red plastic with that frame/stem combo is terrible but once you go white with some matching graphics it could look incredible.

Killer build man, I like that color combo. I was actually thinking of getting those graphics a long time ago when I started my build. Nice job for sure, just gotta get those white plastics soon lol. Im not exactly sure what measurements you're looking for center to center? I have not made it back out to measure them but Ill try to get some measurements for you tomorrow

I don't like the cut look on the new 450s unless its a minor trim, I saw a guy who only really cut off the back side of the front fenders and it looked really sharp.. I've contemplated trying to do it the same way.. Mine are still full

Unfortunately I am going to put this build up for sale, between working full time and starting school again in a few weeks there is not enough time for me to ride. Thanks!! I think i decided to keep her lol, here are a few updated pics, not very good they were taken at a car wash after the race but I added some duct tape accents on my mud caps, frame, tie rods and axle to finish it off lol
