is it ok if?

hey guys i just changed out my bearing carrier, and cant get the axle nut on quite right, it will not turn at all to cover the ring, im wondering is it ok if the ring is exposed?

The ring needs to be covered. What's preventing it from covering it? Are you running out of threads, or is there something physically stopping it from covering?

Something is not right. Did you forget to put the collar in? Did you put 3 bearings in it or just two?
