when tightening the nut on the balljoint how do you go about it with out the thread spining ?

I've used a thin vice grip at the bottom just above the boot while tightening the nut. Once it gets down far enough, it stops spinning.

I just did this myself last weekend. I ended up setting the joint in the spindle with a plastic mallet just enough to avoid it from turning., It didn't harm the joint but stopped it from spinning. Problem solved Good Luck!

cheers for the info guys ,now the bolt has a blue nylon locker in ti did you's bother to use lock tite also ? if so what strenght ??

Guess it wouldn hurt puttin locktite on there. I just trusted the new nylon nut. I tend to check the tightness every couple rides anyway.
