I'll have pictures up pretty soon but I bought a 97 f250 powerstroke, paid for by me and me alone:D

Thanks, Eli

92 F150 heavy duty 2wd, 300cu 6 in 5 speed. Was a great truck, just had an electrical short after an idiot decided to STOP 100+ ft from a toll plaza in front of me and i rearended them. The headlights would go out on me and no one seemed to be able to fix it.

I had tons of good times in that truck tho. Learned how to drive a stick with it, hauled all kinds of junk around for whomever asked, I even took it offroading. It was my grandpas truck that he custom ordered, I have never seen another one like it. It had a full plow, camper and towing package of some sort and had an upgraded transmission unlike most F150s which uses the mazda 5 speed it had the zf iirc.

my first truck was a 93 f150 xl. inline 300. automatic 4x4. loved that truck. had some damn good times in it.

couple months after i bought it

how it was when i sold it

then i bought my powerstroke. which i still have today after almost 3 years

I looked at a few inline 6 fords, can find some nice ones for cheap too

I wanted and still want a nice 94-98 cummins like rollie's but the budget just wasnt there, i got a diesel so I'm still happy

the obs 7.3s are great trucks. theyre what got me in mine. i have a 99 super duty.

cant kill them, if you have an auto anything more than tunes will kill the trans. so be sure to have a tranny fund started. other than that they are indestructible trucks. an obs cummins will rattle apart far before the powerstroke does:p

at 25 yrs old ive only owned 3 trucks that i would actually consider trucks...Ive had a bunch of everyday beater s10s and junk like that. My first truck was a 1979 Ford F250 351M 4speed 4x4. That truck was a tank. me and dad put an all steel flatbed on it, aluminum wheels and polished her up. I kick myself everyday for ever selling that truck. My second truck was a MAJOR update, a 2006 F250 powerstroke. Talk about a difference in ride, comfort and technology lol, Then i moved on to a 2008 Chevrolet 2500. In all truthfulness if my wife would let me i would sell the chevy and buy me another 78 or 79 and buy me an older 94-97 powerstoke.

gave my parents money for a 95 dodge intrepid to get me threw school. but this was the first vehicle i considered to buy. would like to pic up a first or second gen to build a puller at some point.

04 dodge cummins 6 speed with a diablos sport tuner. for now. hopeing to pick up a beater car in a month and keep this as my weekend driver/tower.

94 gmc sonoma bought it for 800, had oil in the radiator, bad fuel lines, needed tires and was a burgendy and black that faded to a horrible pink color with black. Fixed it up pretty decent then sold it a year later to buy my 93 350 silverado off my grandpa. Actual first car though was a 46 ford coupe i got when i was 14 that needed a motor and body work. I was gonna make it look like a moonshine runner from back in the day. Ended up too much work than i was willing to do and bought a banshee with the money from it

First truck, 1984 Custom Deluxe Chevy K10 $750 and no tranny. With a name like that, you'd think fancy, but it was the base trim package. Bought and kept up by me. I would kill to have that truck back. The body was a bit cancerous and pretty dented up. i was going to do a frame up resto, bought another parts truck and all. Dropped the truck off the forks of the tractor and she rolled down a hill and bent the frame. I've got lots of pics of that truck, but none on this computer. Most of them were from mudding. I lived for muddin in high school. Since then, I've bought and sold a few, but they will never be the same as the first. Maybe I'm just a junker, but I miss all my old trucks.

First vehicle was a 1995 dodge ram van 2500.....It was pretty new at the time considering this was back in 2000.. I bought it for $500 from a machine shop my dad works at, it was used to shuttle parts back and forth from shops so it had like 150,000 miles but lasted me a couple years atleast. I cut the catylatic converter off and put a cherry bomb on it. It was pretty sweet.....First quad was a 1987 Polaris Trailboss 250. what a turd.

As Biased as I am i respect all diesels and everyone has there opinions, all are nice trucks. everyone is telling me to do a tune and all this other stuff, Im sayin noo way its staying stock besides exhuast, intake and maybeee a program, i cant afford to do a tranny right now. I like ford trucks better but the cummins engine just lures me in. the power, realiability, and sound of them beats everything in my opinion. after have an opportunity to drive a first gen with 14cm schields ppump, compounds and a 24v head pushing 1100hp on fuel only i was hooked

thread is doing good guys and its interesting hearing all the story's keep it up:D

dont get me wrong i love cummins as well. but through experience the 7.3 is hands down the toughest pickup ever made. the 5.9 cummins is just as if not more legendary than the 7.3 engine though... im picking up a p pump 12v to slap in an antique truck myself.

whatever you do for a chip, go with a custom tune DO NOT get an off the shelf programmer.

honestly i think the best truck would be a 08-11 superduty with a 5.9 ppump, with a fuller 10 speed behind it, truck would be literarly indestructable. its a shame ford and chevy got rid of manual's in HD trucks

Ruby Soho
04-18-2012, 07:23 PM
i agree that would be the baddest truck.

however once again i will stand by the super duty 7.3. not because i own one...mines for sale lol.. but because mine is literally in excellent shape, it is indestructable, gives me zero problems. and we have 6 or 7 of them at work that get the **** kicked out of them day in and day out. i have never seen trucks treated so poorly, with so much weight constantly on them and they just keep chugging. with no issues. seriously impressive.. time for me to get into a duramax though, need a change:D :D

first truck was a 05 silverado, with a 2/4 drop, 22s, exhaust, programmer and a nice system. i paid for most of it, and papaw paid what i couldnt.

2 years later, i sold it, paid papaw back what he put into it, and spent the rest of my life earnings along with the money from the truck and bought a all stock 04 crew cab, and had it lifted on 20s and 35s a week after i bought it. I Have never been happier with the upgrade, and it feels even better that its all paid off, by me.

What Duramax you looking at getting into? As for my first vehicle, it was a 2004 ram 1500 with a hemi. I paied for half and my dad paied for the other half. Paied him back when I was 18, then sold it when I was 21 and bought my Duramax. Love my Duramax!

im looking for an lly or lbz. preferably the lbz for the 6th gear but either one is fine really. the lb7s are good trucks but i just dont dig them all that much

LBZ's are where its at man! Good luck finding one. They are a blast to drive when they are tuned. Although if you find an 06 LLY they are the same as an LBZ with a different tune. They even come with the 6 speed tranny.
