I'm looking at running some Bel-Ray synthetic oil, I know people who say synthetic is great and people who hate it. Either way I've been using Bel-Ray for a lot of stuff and it's never let me down.

How dare you bring this topic back:blah:

Opinions are opinions, but really they make synthetics for ATVs and Motorcycle's and are rated the same and said to be very good oils.

I use synthetic's or what ever's on hand really, they are made to have the same performance as any other oil quality standard's.

So in my opinion they are fine....:chinese:

I hear that synthetics can be hard on your clutch, but you know what, right now I'm accidentally running a 50/50 blend. Put in some Valvoline non-synthetic, there was another jug the same sitting there so I put in some more, and looked at the back and it had Synthetic Amsoil written on it.

i have no opinion other than they should not be run with a wet clutch system. from what i hear anyway.

I'm a big fan of Amsoil synthetics but in the quad I use the cheap shell because I change it every 5 hours.

the reason synthetics are "better" than conventional oils is because the molecules .. they penetrate smaller places that regular oil cannot get to.. with that in a race application you make more power... in a real life situation if you have a leak it will leak more because of the smaller molecules.. i ran regular oil in my honda 3 wheeler for 20 years.. so i use regular oil.... just stay away from oil with any friction modifiers..it will make your clutch slip... just my opinion.... there is pros and cons to both. i just pleasure ride.. no racing

Thanks for the input everyone, I think I'm gonna stick to the Honda stuff. Idk where you guys are buying your oil though my dealer has the gallon jug of the standard Honda oil for just $8.99.

Sounds to me like the grass isn't really greener in this case! I'll stick to what I know works. On the other hand when I pick up a 250r I'm running Klotz synthetic without a doubt, love that smell!
