I am getting a good deal on some Elka shocks off of a YFZ450R. By milling down the bushings on a Bridgeport Milling Machine, would they work on my 250R? I have +2 +1 a arms on it. And would the back shock work with slight modifying?

It all depends on what the extended/collapsed lengths are and what the leverage ratio is on the yfz450r shocks

I've seen it done. It would work best if they were revalved, but either way it'll be better than stock.

The stockers work almost perfect and they dont make it sit higher like the trx450r ones. From what Ive read on here yfz shocks work real well on the trx250r if you cut them as you said. Cant see any reason aftermarket would be much different.

it wont work good
stock 250r shocks r 16 1/4
yfz450r shocks are 18 1/2

there is just to much difference

they are all thinking about trx450 shocks unless i am way off base

Stock 250R shocks aren't 16 1/4. Every pair I've had have been 15 3/4.

But I do believe you are right, I myself overlooked the R on the yfz. YFZ450R shocks won't work but YFZ450 shocks will.
