Yeah, just wish I'd quit finding new ones I like. You'd think one'd be enough..... but nope:rolleyes:
Still my favorite design, just fits the hand well and is easy to shoot. And great aftermarket for parts and upgrades.

id like to get an xd sub compact or even another beretta to go along with my 9mm; something that is smaller to carry in a 40 would be nice.

my bobcat is only a .22 and isnt really worth carrying imo. i didnt think we would get conceal carry in wi when i bought it so i wasnt really worried about it at the time. i figured i could carry it if we ever got cc and now that we do i think its a bit too small to really waste the weight carrying.

my 92fs is just too big unless i am walking around with it on. it is hard to sit down with since it rubs my side

that new acp 45 xd m is pretty sick thats for sure! that will be on my list for purchase sooner rather than later i think.

http://www.the-m-factor.com/html/specs_11.html

Im not really into the rifle stuff, it would be cool to have an ar-15 or something but they are so heavy and would just be a target gun for me anyway. i might as well shoot my 9mm and blow 20 bucks shooting that instead for 50 rounds.

i have plenty or deer rifles and such so i dont need any more of those. a nice 12 gauge would cool though, a mossburg or something would be a nice gun i think.

One day...

steve

ugh lol.ur not gona like me but oh well...

870...... go with a mossberg.500 or 590 special purpose or 500 thunder ranch.

lcp.....never...i mean never trust your life to a ruger semi-auto handgun.better off buying a hammer and beating someone with it.completely unreliable.

g17....go with a g19.easier to conceal.either will be a great weapon and the only one on your list that didnt make me want to vomit and cringe.

ar-15....never go with dpms.....bushmaster,colt,rock river arms are all infinitely better.

desert eagle......see my description for ruger handguns however it is so massive and heavy you wouldnt need to buy the hammer.completely unreliable tho as well.

1911 is one of the best handguns you can get as far as concealment and reliability...the stopping power isn't close the the Deagle but you'll slow down whatever you point it at. I have an 870 super express magnum 3.5 inch and its a sweet shotty. The best shotty I've owned hands down. I have the pistol grip on mine as well as the pistol grip on the pump. and I use my sawed off barrel for hunting wabbits. shes a beaut

if a semi/auto gun isn't reliable it's generally due to the ammo being used more than the gun its in.....

lol so all guns made are perfect/reliable its only the ammo that dictates reliability?man someone should have told our gov. that during vietnam.all those issues with the m16a1 could have been resolved with some changes in ammo.strange how guns are evolving and not the round.

^^^ wow... i cant even come up with something dumb enough to be worthy of the stupidity in that comment. another great thread going down the tubes quickly.

its not always ammo, its not always a gun... does your engine blow up from running lean or the piston thats in it...

you obviously dont shoot alot... so this will go on mute ears but here it goes.

ammo accounts for 99% of the mis-fires and jamming that goes on in a gun. the quality of the ammo is big in how a bullet performs. certain loads are better than others and it will show when shooting it.

if the load is not packed well or with enough load, it wont push the bolt back far enough to eject properly. this causes jamming and issues with fire since the hammer can only do so much when it strikes the shell on a rim fire or on a firing pin on rifles.

yea and dont forget limp-wristing. i know you know what i'm talking about.dont get upset with me because ruger has a poor rep with their semi-autos.just as remington has a poor rep with safety issues on their bolt action rifles.you were stating facts about obvious basic knowledge of weaponry.i was doing the same.

painful to read but yes true......and obvious.if you want to sit and talk gun basics with me atleast dont call my **** dumb when the basics are apparently your fortay.

i dont care how perfect you load your individual round.a p.o.s. gun is still that.some just do not perform and do not hold up under pressure.i buy my guns on the premise they will eat any ammo i feed them at any time so as to not rely on reloading everything to achieve the ignition desired.lol.....ignition.....anyone have any pre-deto?

for the record on average i shoot approx 12,000 rounds per year......5.56,7.62x39,.22,9mm,.40,.45 and 12ga.i shoot 3 gun, timed defense, reactive steel plate.

tournament standards are much less relevant than self-defense to me in light of my hobbies.i would much rather own 1 weapon that functioned flawlessly than 1 million that i had to handload for so who really cares about why it fails to fire, fails to eject, breaks extractors and stovepipes randomly.the point is they do and therefore are junk IMO and i was trying to pass that on to this guy.they make pretty decent wheel guns but their semi's leave much to be desired in all aspects.

did i forget to mention my brother is an armorer and rangemaster?

btw what agencies worldwide rely on ruger semi-autos?

spend 10 years here .....

and i will consider replying to your next comments about firearms.

congrats on shooting that much...

its unfortunate that you make stupid comments like that when there was no reason to state that guns are perfect based on the comments made to that point.

guns are machined much better than ammo is packaged but hey thats just getting back to those basics again... by the stuff you just bragged about, you got those covered as well as i do.

dont want any pre-detonation here either thats for sure. wouldnt want to have a round detonate before its supposed to.

Okay then,.....
My rugers have been fairly reliable. I also only use them at the range. I've got Sigs and Berettas for defensive weapons. Even grab the SA Operator before my ruger, unless my super blackhawk is close to hand. I have enuff faith in the rugers (yes plural) I have to make me want another one. Besides, I collect 1911's and I don't have that one yet (yes I know how that sounds too). Your mileage may vary, that is how the world works. Until I have a reason to distrust or dislike the company, based on my experience, I will continue to purchase their products if they continue to make something that interests me.
That said, thank you for trying to save me and everyone else on this thread from wasting our time/money on a weapon you believe inferior. I appreciate all information I can get about my purchases.

Oh, and I've changed my mind. I want the "Xtreme Tactical 2011" from Rock Island Now. Got to fondle one today at the local shop. That was lust worthy

I love my 1911's. I have a kimber stainless II and just recently picked up a taurus 1911 to compare to. Both of these are nail drivers. I do get a little better groups with the kimber. IMO limp wristing is the biggest "malfunction" to the 1911. I've shot the cheapest and most expensive ammo through both guns. With the cheaper ammo I did get less consistent groups but I've yet to have jam in either gun with. I've put atleast 500 rounds through each. IMO that says a lot. I will say when they are dirty it seems the lock up and recoil is much slower for the obvious reason. I do feel the kimber could use a little heavier recoil spring but that's just me. Either way I love both of these guns. I occasionally carry the taurus but a 5'' barreled gun just seems too long for my likings so I usually carry my sigma 40 or springfield xd. The springfield is an awesome gun too. One of the best guns to carry IMO. I have had issues with the feed into the gun, but I believe it's the clip that is malfunctioning. I think the spring has lost a little tension from being under a continuous load. The s&w sigma 40 is an ok gun. Close range it's fairly accurate but anything at a distance and it's all over the place. Not a fan of the trigger nor having a thumb safety, but for the $300 price tag it wasn't a bad buy. All in all, I'm a huge fan of the 1911's and will continue to be.

I got a Taurus 1911 last year. I have not had any 1911 till this one, but I have to say I am pretty happy with it's performance so far. I have shot about 300 rounds so far and no jams or malfunctions. I'am not suprised though, I have three other Taurus pistols. None have ever failed in performance or accuracy. Just my two cents.

Lol at the "never buy a ruger auto" or "dpms" comment. Rugers make great guns, I, aswell as many other friends and family have a few and have never had a problem with them.

Also the "dont buy this ar, buy this ar" comment is just as stupid. People dont realize that alot of parts from the so called "low end" ar companies are made by the exact same company as some of the "higher end" companies. Look at the lowers, approx FOUR manufacturers make the majority of the lowers for the AR market. For example LAR makes lowers for DPMS and also Bushmaster.

Buy what you want and what feels good in your hand, its your money. Just dont buy a hi-point.

I have a taurus 24/7 as well and I can't complain about it. I'm pretty impressed with the taurus'.

As far as the hi-points, my cousin has had two of them and has had nothing but issues. I don't know if it's coincidence or what, but I may have the agree on the hi-points.
