how often you need to replace your clutch? my clutch cable seems to be adjusted to the max, and was wondering how long does the stock clutch last? are they like the stock rear breaks? and what brand of clutch plates you recommend?
thanks

Clutch plates should last some time, but it also depends on you riding style. Just like with rear brake pads. I would first check your cable. Have you moved the adjuster on the cable on the engine? I find that the cable will wear out from use. If you have done the adjustment on the engine and on the lever I would get a new cable first. If you do need plates the stock ones are the best.

so there are 2 adjusters, one on the engine and another on the handle bars? and the cable wares out how? it stretches?

I go thought about 2 a year. they will stretch some, that is one of the reason s for the adjusters. sheck the one on the side of the engine before you get a new cable.

how you tell if the clutch is going or the cable is stretched?

Go for a ride and give it alot of gas. If it takes off right away the plates are good. If the engine rev's up and then goes the plates are going. I beat that you need a new cable.

I went two years and two clutch cables with my stock clutch. The clutch was still fine when I replaced it a little over a year ago. (wanted a beefer clutch for the engine work I did)

I hope this helps:)

I just bought a brand new clutch for my soon to be 330ex.. u can tell when its about to go because when it first cranks up.. it seems ok but then when the clutch creates friction and heats up and it starts to slip when u fully let out of the clutch, thats when you need a new one.. also another way to tell is when your torque is decreased... my clutch slips soo bad.. its not even funny.. so i bought a barnett clutch..

what do you have to take of to get to the clutch plates?

and if you take that off can you physically see if it is worn or not?
