Where did people on here have theirs built? What are the rod, piston pin and piston requirements. Does the crank have to be balanced to the new rod and piston?

There is several that build Puma's, Sphinx, and Sabers

couple I can think of off the top of my head...

My buddy just got his Puma done by Packard and it seems to run real well!!

On the Puma i have heard of people running the YZ490 rod, CR500 rod and even a KTM rod.

I think most people have their tins welded and the crank balanced.

A crank done "RIGHT" for the Puma will be around $900-$1000.

The crank i currently have for my Saber was done by Pete@Hybrid. But it has no tins at all on it. Plus it uses a Artic Cat 1000 rod with a 24mm wrist pin.

10 or 12 munths ago i got my puma from bdtm carlos- a monster engine with a boat load of torque- never stops pulling. my bud just got a carlos 370 sphynx 2 weeks ago- should be a killer motor.

Hey thorn.. Your buddy run his sphinx from Carlos yet? I have an order with him now. Need to give the final answer on a 370 sphinx top end or pro x by next week? Thoughts? Def more $ for sphinx but debating if worth it.

no- he is in the middel of a total frame build. he did see another bdtm sphynx 370 run and wanted one. he already has a bdtm 330 he races tt with.

pete gets my vote he has 3 of my motors now and great guy to work with.

there are others like nate Mccoy, matt shearer, and a few others that build mean pumas too
