ok i have a question, i see a lot of decked out mx quads , but about 3 out of 5 of them have the stock swingarms on them. Now my question is...are the factory swingarms on 300 and 400ex's built strong enough for mx racing? I know that the a arms and shocks and axle and stuff need to be replaced for racing but it seems reasonable to run the stock swingarm, they seem to be built just as strongly as some of the aftermarket ones? can anyone tell me anything about the stock swingarms strength and durability for "light" mx racing?:blah

For the average MX racer (like me :) ) the stock swingarm will work fine. You shouldn't have any problem with it, as long as it's maintained (read: greased). If you start getting huge air, then you'll eventually break the stock one, usually around the pivot bolt on the sprocket side.

Unless you just want to spend the money, I wouldn't worry about it until you have a problem.

It depends on two things.

How hard you are going to be on it, and your suspension.
