I'm new to the mini quads. My son wants to get into racing and I want to help support him. I need some help. He is almost 8 and has been riding since 4. I bought an 07 Apex and cleaned the carb, filter, etc. But for some reason when you give it throttle it takes off really slow. I've read some different things about but I'm not really sure what needs to be done. Any advice would be great.

you may have a weak torqe spring easy way to find out take 2 of the roller wgts out and do a test run . and is there a screw in the throttle if there is take that out .i no the drr has them the trottle limiter, and if it has a slipper sprocket make shore its tight i torqe mine at 105 after ever moto or pratice run .

When I take out 2 roller wgts how will I be able to know the torque spring is bad? Will it not move, etc. thanks for your help. It's a learning process for me.

It should shift harder and better, dropping a couple of weights. Your torque spring has probably gotten hot (which it does) and lost some of its tension. Just order a couple of springs. You will find that you will change alot of them over your years of racing. Id like to have a nickel for every one that I have changed! LOL
