longer needle for carb?

so i purchased an LRD jet kit for my blaster after i had purchased an LRD pipe used but never installed most of the included stuff. well, i just noticed that there was a needle included and after comparing it to the stock one, it's a little longer. however, the diameter is the same where the stock one ends, the longer one just keeps tapering down.

is there any benefit to this? i'm trying to work out the bugs in this carb and i'm not sure if i should just switch it back to the original.
