View Full Version : LRD exhaust for 400EX???

For you guys who have the LRD system on ur 400, how do you like it? Is it excessively loud? I am thinkin of getting one when i do my 416 kit.

I don't have one, but ride with guys who do. It is loud, but it's also a good pipe for a stock motor. I don't know how it performs with a built motor, though. Most people are going to recommend you go with a builder's pipe, like Curtis Sparks (which I have :) ).

Yea, i know the sparks is good, but it costs an arm and a leg. I am lookin for somethin a little more affordable.

I doubt that it is much louder then a White Bros. E-series

Their new pipe was made for stock and built motors, so it will work great. I have one on a stock motor and I love it.

I had a WB Slip On before my LRD and the LRD is louder, but not too much.

Thats good. My best friend owns a farm we ride on and his dad gets pissed if we make too much racket.

well i just rode mine for the 1st time 2 mins ago...

i have a built motor and it pulled extremly hard though out the power band... it really woke my bottom end of my motor up... its def a awesome pipe...

now the down fall... its already up for sale:( dad said its way to loud... loudest pipes hes ever heard so hes makin me sale it for something quiter:grr god i hate dads

Hey steve-o,

The LRD is a great pipe. It looks good, its well built, make good power and sounds good. It is a little loud, but I think the power was worth it. If you interested talk to Tommy-17 it sounds like you can get a new pipe for cheep.

Man that sucks. Noise isnt really an issue except when we ride at my friends farm. Do they make a quiet core?? Does anyone know how many db's it puts out?? And where can i get the best price on it?

I'm not sure if they make a quiet core orhow many db's they make. I know you can get a spark arrestor. The best place to buy one is probly here at EXriders from CDRacing.com We all get a 10% discount for being members, give that a try. I also recommend you get the ceramic coated version. It won't change color and rust like the stainless will.

I think I am gunna get ceramic, i think it looks cooler, personally. The chrome does look good though. Do they still make it in that red color?? I thought that looked pretty hot.

I love my LRD, i still haven't gotten my jetting perfect yet but it just makes a difference. I had an E-series slip on, it is louder but not lots louder, i also have a s/a for it but have yet to use. I'm pretty sure the s/a will quiet it down considerably just depending on how many disks you run

As long as it isnt much louder than an e- series i'm good. If the s/a can do this then i am in business. I will only need to put it in every once in a while but i'd just like to know i can if i need to. Thanks for the info.:D

i have a lrd with my 400ex. One of the best pipes ive ever ridden with. Great power allthrought the grears and powerbands. I cant wait to try it out on my 426 engine! For the loud part it is not that bad, their are a lot louder pipes out their, i beilive the tc custom pipe is one of the loudest :eek:

my friend has an LRD on his 440ex. i havem't talked to him for a while but he liked it. next week at the dunes in oklahoma ill ride it if he comes. it wasn't that loud compared to the crf450 with the yoshi.
