Hi, I am looking to buy a 450r carb for my 400ex. I have seen on here some people buy new ones from servicehonda.com and some buy used off of ebay. I see that the new ones on servicehonda are like $190 and most used ones on ebay are like $160-200.

I am wondering if the new ones are sent with the hot start, throttle cable, and fuel line. Most of the used ones have the throttle cable and hotstart, but I am a little worried buying used not knowing how good of shape it is in.

Also, where do you think I should start with jetting when I do get one. I am in Iowa at about 1000ft

My Mods include
- Port and Polish
- 416 11:1 wiseco
- Stage 2 Hotcam
- EHS lid
- HMF comp series exhuast
- Ground headpipe welds

Thank You, Nick

Approx 170 main, 52 pilot.

If you want a truly unmolested carb then buying it new is worth it. I bought mine used and found it coated in gunk inside that required ALOT of cleaning.

The hotstart Im not sure if it comes on the carb, but no the cable is separate.
