These are custom axis long travel shocks for a honda. they came off an mx setup 400ex. they were horrible looking and i had them completely gone over and rebuilt! $220 in parts from axis. new seals all over. brand new seal heads (newer style). new eyelet rubbers. bushings are good. and tight. new bump stops. had springs powdercoated. double gloss black mains and metallic silver tenders. they look really good!
here are the stats on these shocks.
18.75" eye to eye.
5 5/8" shaft travel
Spring rates:
Top blue- 175lb
Mid green- 500lb
Main- 175lb
valving:
rebound shim stack
1.10-8
.950-8
.80-8
.70-8
Compression shim stack
1.25-8
1.1-8
.95-8
.80-8
.70-15(3)
These shocks will work for xc also. length is common for + 1/2-1" a-arms like laegers, ars-fx, houser etc.
the compression valving is setup for mx style riding but will not be far off for lighter xc rider. rebound valving is close to xc setups. I'm 125lbs and these shocks as they sit will be in the ball park for me riding woods. the valving is pretty good where it is at for a rider within the 160-200lb range but within that weight there will need to be some spring changes. like i said as they sit now with those lighter springs wouldn't feel all that bad to a 125- to maybe 140lb rider. I want to keep these but for the right price they will be sold. Asking $800 shipped. i know its high! but these shocks are turn key need no work except specific valving and spring adjust and they look like they are new!
