A couple weekends ago we raced our second round of Texas Off Road Nationals (TORN) outside Callisburg, Tx. My daughter did much better, finishing 2nd this race. The track was much tighter in the woods with a watery mud hole about half-way around the 1.25 mile lap.

She came off the line in second and got involved in a pile-up of 4 quads in the first turn. When that got untangled, she got away in 5th. She faught hard for the remainder of the race and took the checkered flag in 2nd. Our quad is setup more for this type of XC racing, our shocks are very soft and the engine pulls hard on the bottom to mid-range. She was able to make some daring passes by bombing through on the inside of courners and I saw her put the power down on a short straight in the woods and get around a built TRX90. We're looking forward to more podium finishes this season and maybe a win before the end.

Enjoy the pics.

Going into the first turn 2nd, the red quad behind her tried to shoot the inside and started the pile-up.

Now running 2nd with not enough time to catch the leader.

What size tires you running on that quad? Great pics!

Thanks. We're running 20x6-10 Razr MX on the front and 18x19-9 Razr iMx on the rear. My daughter really prefers the 9" rear wheel, likes how it handles over an 8" wheel.

No ground clearance issues with the 18 inch rear? I was looking for tires for the Raptor 250 I have, and was worried the 18's might not have enough clearance.

We're pretty low, about 5", but my daughter has been practicing on the main track for big quads and hasn't had any trouble. If she were running the main track all the time I'd probably go to 21/20 tires, but the peewee tracks are a joke as far as obstacles go.

Did you switch out the 18's on your Outlaw?

Yes, I run a 21/20 combo. Some of our tracks you can do 20/18 tires on the main track, but I feel better running the same tire size all the time instead of switching out for different tracks. I have to change gearing when I put the 18s on so I avoid that by staying with 20s.

I see, I'm still up in the air about 18 rears on the 250. I guess I could look for a real light weight 20 inch rear.

If I ever put 20s on our 125, I'll probably try Holeshot XCRs, that's about as light a 20 as you'll find.
