400ex Aluminum shrouds

Ok,
got some air shrouds for my quad.. its still in the shop for rebuild, but when i go pick it up we are going to put all the stuff i bought on it there...
The shrouds came with no mounting hardware, so i guess i'll have to buy some bolts, i sure hope they bolt right up. Not sure what size to get if anyone could give me a holler it'd be appreciated.

They may use mounting bolts that are already on your frame or something. Im assuming,, i dont know.

They mount with your plastic so you dont need any extra bolts

Where do you get these?! I see them on peoples 400's all the time but I never know where to get them, and I always forget to google them or look them up on here.

Honestly, they aint worth the coin-they look cool but dont help.

Got newer maier plastic if that makes a differance

they help and yes they do look cool.

as for mounting i had to buy new bolts. the shrouds mount to your fender mounts. the problem is the fender mount bolts are half thread half smooth. you don't have enough thread because the shroud will take up some.

what you need to do is take 1 fender bolt to a hardware store and get 8 bolts the exact length that are all thread bolts.

i got cdb shrouds off ebay too lol. they can be pretty dang cheap. i'm sure they help some but if anything they look freaking cool:cool:

um by far are the ones to use because of two reasons,they are identical to omf from the mouth of an omf salesman and they're the only good ones available.as of summer last year omf isnt making them until they get an order of like 500 and the the closest other ones are prm and i laughed at them and demanded my money back.total junk.i use only the upper and lower frame mounts for them and totally ommitted the stock lower plastic mount rods you're supposed to use as well.excessive beating and vibration caused one upper mount to break on the 90 deg bend.i took them to a local machinist and had him weld some supports in. almost a year and 500 hrs later no problems.

Got them on, had to grind off 2 bolts, and get a longer one.
