I have a 2006 trx450er. Oil from the motor side is transfering over to the transmission side. Has anyone ran into this? Hoping if someone has they can speed up the diagnosis process. I hate to take it apart farther than i have to.

Thanks
Grant

its one of 2 things...
more then likely its your crank seal..

or there is a bolt on the right side that holds in the reduction gear plate for staring gears, that penetrates from clutch side to crank case.. if work has been done inside the right case and no lock tight was used its possible it came out...

but like I said its more then likely its your crank seal, but usually the oil goes from tranny to crank, not crank to tranny

I actually had the crank bearing retainer plate crack a peice off and it got in between the counter balancer ant put a pin hole in there.

I assume the clutch side crank seal? And it looks like that is replacable without splitting the cases. No recent engine work done On the lower end. Top end done 5 hrs ago.

My seal looks ok, but i am going to replace it and the gear. there is just a bit of etching where the seal lip rides and i figured why chance it. parts should be here today. i hope this is it!
