400ex axle in a 300ex

Does anyone know if a stock 400ex axle will work in a 300ex?

I dont think so,

The bearing carrier is a different width i believe.

I think the bearing carrier on a 400ex is wider.

It will but you have to use spacers on the sprocket side and one on the brake hub side.There is a post on how to do it under the 300ex section.We just did it to my friends over the weekend.I'll go find the post and put it in here in a few.

I think it would just be better to use the whole rear end out of a 400,plus it would make it 2-3 in longer.
